Today's difficult market conditions have sparked a range of challenges and opportunities for CIOs.

As the recession continues to bite, IT has a leading role to play in delivering greater business efficiencies and cost savings. Times are tough and cutbacks are inevitable, yet CIOs cannot afford to ignore innovation. In times of crisis, innovation in IT is an important enabler of growth and competitiveness, and the right investments can ensure organisations are in a stronger position for when the economy recovers, assuring a head start on competitors.

The Financial Times CIO Dinner Forum IT leadership in uncertain times: Driving efficiencies, innovation and growth will provide strategic insights into how CIOs can leverage technology to redefine business models and drive the organisation through shifting markets. As CEOs look for ways to make the organisation leaner, more customer focused and positioned to maximise current and future market opportunities, CIOs have the potential to increase their influence by bringing much value to boardroom discussions.

This timely dinner, which is being held in association with HP, will convene a specially selected group of influential CIOs and IT leaders from both public and private sectors for an evening of high-level, frank and intimate discussion. To encourage this, the dinner will be held under Chatham House rules.
