The CFO Global Energy Forum will be a unique, round-table-style event, specifically devised for a select group of senior financial executives of major oil, gas and power companies from around the world, to debate current financial and governance issues facing the energy industry.
In these times of financial and economic turbulence, the demands on the finance function are greater than ever, and the CFO finds himself at the helm, navigating a path through troubled waters and steering a way to financial sustainability and recovery. For the Energy CFO, the challenges are compounded by the enormity of the industry's investment needs and the need to respond to a new green and clean energy agenda.
As a result of our extensive research for this project, we believe that the following issues would probably be of most relevance to this senior and select audience:
- Finance and investment strategies for an energy industry in turmoil: managing the downturn, thriving in the upturn
- Mergers and acquisitions implications for the future structure of the global energy industry
- Dealing with a new reality: clean energy and innovation repositioning the global energy company for a low carbon future.
- Risk and governance: turning risk and good governance into a value creating proposition
The Forum, which is once more being organised with the support of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, will commence with a dinner on the evening of Tuesday 22 September to which both the participants and speakers will be invited. This invitation-only meeting will continue throughout the day on 23 September, and conclude with an informal concluding dinner on Wednesday evening.
